My brother sent me a tube of the creme when he learned I was having knee pain -- because it worked so well on his own knees. I asked him why he thought it worked but he didn't want to know any more than it worked. So I researched it, and learned there w ere no independent studies done on it -- and attributed the benefits to the "placebo effect," but since I've seen so many athletes wearing the Phiten tape, I thought there must be something to it -- because athletic performance and results are the ultimate test, and most athletes know whether an aid works or not. Therapeutic improvement is the same as performance-enhancing, and while Phiten is promoted as performance-enhancing, it does very well for therapeutic and general health benefits -- by reviving the nerves -- which standard medical treatments say cannot be revived. The topical application of titanium, gold, silver, platinum and palladium seems to improve the conductivity of the electro-chemical impulses along the lines of the Traditional Chinese Medicine approach of treating the nerves through acupuncture, acupressure, reflexology, meridians, etc. -- just like ancient people use to go to hot springs and soak up minerals through their skin, and people do with Epsom salts. Topical applications are also the primary way of preventing aging of the skin -- which is the obvious sign of aging -- as a high-tech skin care products as well.
