I always buy these in the black to use as a �rope� style necklace. I don�t buy them for the titanium �hype.� I have found that the 18� hangs perfectly where I think a necklace should hang, along with giving the appearance of �rope� type material. I then add my own pendant to the necklace to complete the look. I have had several of these necklaces over the years. The actually necklace material itself is very durable. The only reason I need to replace them is because they use plastic clips. So they either wear out to the point of not holding or the clips break. I put it on and take it off everyday, and It does see lots of abuse. I�ve had clips last me 5 years and I�ve had 1 or two that only last 4 month because they break and no longer hold. So that�s the only thing I wish they would change. Going to a metal style clasp, or something more durable, but for $20 you can beat the look or durability. I work outdoors so it does get dirty and sweaty. All I have to do is run it under water, scrub with some soap and it�s good as new.

At first glance the clasp looks as though it will break. It is difficult to put on unlike the classic necklace but after getting used to taking the necklace off and putting it back on I like it. Cool design and the yellow is as bright as ever.

It is a nice looking necklace, unfortunately the plastic clasp is hard to close. Unless the two parts of the clasp are lined up exactly it will not close flush. I have looked at many necklaces and all my kids have one, all of them close flush without the worry of lining anything together. I'm bummed:(
