Daily Care: Stretching to Alleviate Neck Stiffness from Sleep
Hello, Valued Phiten Customers,
Welcome back to the Daily Care Stretch series, where we provide practical tips for maintaining your physical well-being. This issue focuses on neck care for stiffness often caused by improper sleeping positions - sometimes experienced as a "crick" or "stiff neck" upon waking.
What Causes Neck Stiffness from Sleep?
Neck stiffness after sleeping usually results from muscles and ligaments around the neck being strained due to awkward positions during sleep. Common causes include:
- Sleeping on your stomach, which twists the neck for extended periods
- Using pillows that are too high, too low, or unsupportive, leading to poor spinal alignment
- Sudden head movements during sleep or holding the neck in one position too long
These can cause muscle tightness, reduced blood flow, and inflammation, leading to stiffness and pain that may limit neck movement temporarily.
Our stretches, supervised by Phiten’s official trainers in Japan, help gently relax tight neck muscles, improve circulation, and promote recovery to restore comfortable movement.
Enhance Care with Phiten Products
For better results, apply Phiten Metax Lotion or Metax Cream before stretching. These products relax muscles and support your body, making stretches more effective and comfortable.
